The Vice President & Actuary is responsible for managing the actuarial staff of Chubb Personal Risk Services and working with senior management in developing, analyzing and maintaining the rates for the division?s Personal Lines products. The role is based in our Whitehouse, NJ office and reports to the Chief Actuary of Personal Risk Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Work with PRS Senior Management to set PRS pricing strategy for each product line ? Manage actuarial pricing staff including setting the staff?s priorities and workloads and training and developing actuarial staff ? Develops management reports used to analyze divisions profitability ? Responsible for overseeing actuarial rate filings with regulators ? Manage the development of actuarial rate indications ? Work with product and field management to recommend rate level based on competitive rate analyses of the Company?s key competitors. ? Work with Chubb?s corporate predictive analysis unit and the PRS predictive analytics team to include predictive analytics in the rate review process in addition to implementing multivariate rating plans and underwriting models ? Develops the pricing of new products and rating plans ? Develop processes to accurately monitor achieved rate changes and report to Senior Management on variances to the rate plan ? Assist Chief Actuary in developing division?s Financial Plan ? Assist Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer in purchasing reinsurance and in reinsurance renewals ? Work with catastrophe modeling unit to develop methods to include an adequate risk load into the rate analysis
? ACAS; FCAS preferred ? 10+ years of experience ? Prior managerial or supervisory experience preferred ? Excellent analytical and communication skills ? Strong computer skills
